The shipping industry is growing rapidly: every day, more and more parcels need to be shipped in the B2B and B2C sectors in shorter and shorter times. However, the increasing demands for fast delivery times and a diverse product range often lead to inefficiently packed boxes. These often contain only 15% product and 85% air or cushioning material – a burden on the environment and profitability.

Our patented AMI case volume reducer makes your packaging process future-proof. The system automatically adjusts product-filled cases to their minimum required size and seals them securely for transport.

Volume reduction with adhesive tape closure

Our volume reducer for cartons with lid flaps, such as FEFCO 0201, automatically determines the fill level of the goods in the open carton. The corners of the side walls are precisely cut to match the determined fill level. The cut side walls, including the lid flaps, are folded in and securely sealed with tape (self-adhesive tape or sustainable water activated tape).

Volume reduction with lid application

With this version as well — designed for cartons without lid flaps, such as FEFCO 0200 or FEFCO 0453 — the fill height of the product in the open carton is automatically determined. The corners of the side walls are precisely cut to match the determined fill height. The cut side walls are folded in. The carton is then securely glued and sealed with a separate lid.

Using state-of-the-art measurement technology, the fully automatic machine automatically detects the minimum required packaging height and adapts precisely to each product. It then cuts the corners of the cardboard box cleanly and safely, folds the lid without wasting material and seals it with either adhesive tape or glue – for an efficient, clean and resource-saving packaging solution.

The parcels contain up to 85% less air, which reduces the amount of filling material required and significantly cuts costs.
